Took Miyuki and Megan to vets.
Vet has no idea about pedigrees but thought Miyuki did not look pure persian. However there are two types himaylan and doll face and mine looks more doll faced where as my sisters is more himalayan.
Any way the good news is health of kittens is fine. I mentioned PKD she said they would show symptoms of it from the start but she didn't seem to know that much about it any way.
Flea treatment/worming treatment we have to do at home got the stuff from vets.
HOWEVER. I MENTIONED the fact the vet said she wasn't pure to the previous owner who then told me "I am not sure what qualifications the vet has to tell you she is not pure persion? Cant get papers for mum as she was given to us as we told you, she was no good for breding so they gave her to us and didnt give us any papers. we are not breeders ourselves, it just happened, our girl wil be done so she cant have any more kittens, as we do not want to go through 8 weks of looking after them and having to sell them on again, it was too painfull to let them go."
So I was like wait a minute. You brought a persian cat UNSPADE then brought her home to your UNNEUTERED PERSIAN MALE. OF COURSE THIS WILL HAPPEN. Apparently he didn't know his male cat wasn't done. WHATEVER.
So basically I called him and gave him a mouthfull. I told him how he never told me they got the mother from a breeder and was unsuitable for breeding and I asked why isn't she suitable for breeding and he said "we don't know" but after research maybe it's because the mother didn't produce the right kittens and the breeder was very picky.
Either way I am angry. He seems to reackon the previous owner of the mother told them she was PKD NEG and they do have the papers for dad which state he is PKD NEG. He reackons they are certainly both pure persians.
He has had the mother 10 months or so. I said I want to contact the previous owner of the mother to get copy of the papers. He said he don't know her number now as it was all done by phone but he said she lives in Whitham. So I am going to try chase up breeders in Whitham.
He said he is on holiday now (which is true) but he will try get the details for me. He didn't seem guilty but I don't trust no one.
He said if there is anything wrong he will take her back. But I love her and she seems healthy according to the vet.
Either way I am just angry that he was this ignorant about the whole thing. I mean if the breeder of the mother cat knew there was a health problem with the mother cat and could not be bred from surely she would be spade and not sold or sold as pet only. He seems to think though it was no health problems at all and she was kept in a cage outside for breeding. So maybe they got fed up of her which is why they sold her on? Who knows... But I am going to try find out.
